The technical name for this little treat is Chocolate Caramel Rice Krispy Treats, but I much prefer how my neighbor referred to them when I took them to a BBQ a few months ago--"Rice Krispy Treats on crack". They will blow your mind, and create such an addiction that you will be proud of yourself when you only eat three at a time.You have to lower your standards for self-discipline when these babies are around. If you need dessert in 10 minutes, this is your winner.
Chocolate Caramel Rice Krispy Treats

- 5 T. unsalted butter
- 1 (10 oz) bag marshmallows
- 5 c. Rice Krispies
- 1 c. chocolate chips (half a bag)
- 20 Rolos (my husband decided this is the perfect amount. He is always right, but don't tell him that.)
In a large dutch oven, melt butter over med-low heat. Stir in marshmallows and continue stirring until melted. Add Rolos and stir until those are melted as well. Remove from heat and stir in the Rice Krispies and chocolate chips (I'd recommend getting the cereal nicely coated in the marshmallow mixture before you stir in the chocolate chips). Spread into a greased 9x13 pan and press quickly with your hands (spray them with cooking spray so you won't have a mess) until evenly distributed. Try to wait a few minutes for them to cool before you cut into squares. Curse me when you make three pans in one week.
